How to Train Your Dragon

This was such a fun cake to do, and really was less difficult than I anticipated. Just had to do a little carving. Toothless is a favorite in our house, so it was fun to watch my own kids with this cake. 8" carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and fondant. Toothless is a plastic figure, not sculpted by me.

Mario Birthday Cake

This cake. Oh my goodness. I'm a little bit of a Mario fan myself and this was so much stinking fun! The mushroom on top did turn out bigger than I had originally envisioned, but I still love how it turned out! I can't take credit for the design. I totally found a picture of this cake on Pinterest and copied it. Why improve on perfection? This cake also marked my first anniversary of selling my cakes. I was lucky enough to make this birthday boy's cake last year also. The cake is 8" red velvet and carved red velvet mushroom with 'mystery frosting' and fondant. The cake and frosting recipe is the birthday boy's grandma's recipe.

Monster Truck Cake, 1/4 sheet

This is a smaller version of the monster truck cake I did last December. It's 1/4 sheet size instead of 1/2 sheet. Hopefully the birthday boy won't be eating cake for the entire month of his birthday this time!

Minecraft Cube cake

This cake probably ties for first place on cakes that have taken me the longest to decorate. There are 958 1/2 inch squares of fondant on that cube. Such a long process! We're talking 10 hours to cut them all out and another 10 hours to assemble them. This is an 8"x 6" cube of French vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and fondant. The pick axe on top is also fondant.

Monster Trucks!

This birthday boy is obsessed with monster trucks and Grave Digger! So this cake was perfect for him. He wanted a rainbow cake, so I colored the French vanilla batter to make lots of different colors. Chocolate buttercream was perfect for our monster truck stadium and fondant details added the perfect finishing touch. Don't forget your ear plugs!

Train O-N-E Cake

This lucky little one year old got 3 cakes! Initially, the design of this cake was going to be a number 1 carved out. But when mom delivered this adorable wooden train to chug around the cake, it was too big! So we shifted our focus a little and came up with this birthday cake. I think it would make any conductor proud! It is made up of 10" squares and rounds. Yellow cake with vanilla buttercream and fondant details.

Race Car Birthday Cake

I love that this little boy's name is Miles and that he wanted a race car birthday cake! I think his momma knew what she was doing when she named him! This one is a carved french vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and fondant details. Mom had the racecars to add to the cake when the birthday boy blew out his candles.
