Darth Vader
So when I first got a request for this cake, I glanced at it and thought 'That looks simple enough'. As a week or so went by and I started to study it a little closer, there were a couple elements I became concerned about. And I started to wonder why I had taken the order. Concern #1: the painting on the tiers is air brushed, and I do not own an air brush. Concern #2: I had never sculpted a human figure before. Not only have I not sculpted one before, but I was terrified to even try sculpting one. But nothing ventured, nothing gained! So I did some creative thinking and I watched some YouTube videos and I gave it my best shot. I have to say, I am proud of how Vader turned out. He is my sturdiest sculpture to date, and I may not be quite so terrified of sculpting anymore. He took me about 6 hours, weighed almost 9 ounces, and stood about 6 inches tall. The cake is 10" chocolate fudge with raspberry filling, vanilla buttercream, and fondant. 8" red velvet with mexican vanilla buttercream and fondant.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
I love it when my customers give me a little creative licence on a cake. The initial picture I was given just had a moon and a few stars on top. And some sculpted animals in front. The girl throwing the baby shower said her theme was twinkle, twinkle, little star. And I had this vision of stars cascading down the entire side of the cake. I love how it looks and the mother to be loved it too! 8" and 6" lemon cake with vanilla buttercream and fondant.

Mario Birthday Cake
This cake. Oh my goodness. I'm a little bit of a Mario fan myself and this was so much stinking fun! The mushroom on top did turn out bigger than I had originally envisioned, but I still love how it turned out! I can't take credit for the design. I totally found a picture of this cake on Pinterest and copied it. Why improve on perfection? This cake also marked my first anniversary of selling my cakes. I was lucky enough to make this birthday boy's cake last year also. The cake is 8" red velvet and carved red velvet mushroom with 'mystery frosting' and fondant. The cake and frosting recipe is the birthday boy's grandma's recipe.

Ninjago
I have 4 girls. So when I got this order for a Ninjago cake I knew I needed to do some research. I had honestly never heard of Ninjago in my life! My days are filled with princesses and playing dress up and painting fingernails. So when my daughters found me sitting on the couch watching a ninja cartoon, they fled to their dad for saftey. Mom had obviously flipped her lid. But it was all worth it to make the little ninja birthday boy happy! This 8" cake is devil's food cake with vanilla buttercream and fondant.
Hawaiian Luau
Aloha! This cake makes me want to run to the nearest white, sandy beach I can find! This cake was for a luau themed sweet 16 birthday party. This 10" and 8" tiered cake is chocolate fudge with vanilla buttercream and fondant.

Safari Smash Cake
These guys were my first attempt at fondant sculptures. I definitely need more practice, but they were so fun to do!
