Frozen Birthday Cake

Frozen. My 4 year old is totally obsessed. And apparently, so is every other girl in the world. This makes it slightly difficult to find birthday presents for the kid. Since every other mother is trying to find the exact stuff as I am. Rant: I had to have my friend, who was on vacation in Disney World with her 3 boys, go searching for an Elsa dress up dress. Let's just say her boys were not happy with me. And I seriously got lucky to be able to find the figures for this cake. But, it turned out beautifully and I had a happy little birthday girl! This tiered cake is 8" and 6" French vanilla marble with vanilla buttercream and fondant.

    1. I actually made it from wrapping fondant around wire.

    1. I bought them from Amazon. But beware. The price gouging for Frozen stuff on that site is horrendous! And I can't figure out why you still can't find Frozen merchandise on the Disney Store site. The movie is 9 months old now. You'd think they would be putting more merchandise out by now. Or maybe this is all a marketing ploy. So frustrating. But I digress...

  5. I love how you did this cake! I need you to settle an argument though between me and my husband: did you spray the snowflakes with a silver spray or did you use luster dust?

    1. Haha, I am happy to resolve any arguments! :) I used Wilton's color spray in silver for the snowflakes. Hope that helps! And someone gets free dinner out of it! ;)

  6. Beautiful cake! I was able to order the figures on disneystore.com. With shipping and tax it was still cheaper than Amazon. What color is the #4? And what are the silver pearls along the base? One more thing...are the snowflakes made with a plunger? Thanks in advance!

    1. The #4 is a combination of Wilton gels burgundy and no taste red. I just added and adjusted until I got the same pink that is on Anna's cloak. The pearls along the base are edible dragees and yes, the snowflakes are made with a plunger I bought from Amazon. Have fun!

  8. Hi - did you color the fondant or buy it that color already? If you colored what color/s did you use and if bought what color did you buy? The snowflakes look like two different colors were used - did you use the same color spray for both and if so how did you get one lighter and one darker? And one more, how did you adhere the edible dragees around the cakes? Thanks!!
